About Rob Trumbull
Rob Trumbull is the
incumbent Commissioner for Haverford Township’s
3rd Ward, having first been elected
in 2000. He currently serves as the
Vice-President of the Board of Commissioners. A
dedicated public servant, Rob works hard to
serve the residents of the 3rd Ward
and help them to solve everyday issues.
He believes in
participative open government and will continue
to offer an independent and principled voice on
the Board of Commissioners. He will continue to
insist that Township contracts be put out for
competitive bid, so that the taxpayers get the
best value for their money. He is also proud
that during his tenure on the Board, Haverford
Township took the bold step to purchase the
former Haverford State Hospital property and
approve the development plan that maximizes the
amount of open space and recreation on the
property. Rob looks forward to working with our
Recreation Department make sure we have
first-class amenities at Haverford State
Hospital at a fair cost to the taxpayer.
Additionally, Trumbull was selected by the Board
of Commissioners to liaison with the Citizens
Task Force for Commercial Revitalization of the
Haverford Township Civic Council, and he remains
committed to working with this group to bring
businesses to Haverford Township.
Trumbull continues to
believe that open government is the best way for
the residents of Haverford Township to remain
informed and empowered. For example, after
hearing complaints about the quality of the
televised meetings of the Board of
Commissioners, Rob worked to get better
recording equipment installed so that residents
can better hear and see the proceedings. He has
also been a key driver of bipartisan cooperation
on the Board that benefits all of Haverford, not
just a select few.
Rob has long been active in
the community, serving in various positions with
the Haverford Township Civic Council, Oakmont
Neighborhood Association (President), Oakmont
School PTO (Chair, Young Writer’s Day Program),
Boys Scouts of America (Cubmaster, Pack 132,
Oakmont School), Merion Golf Athletic
Association (Softball Coach). He has also served
on the Board of Directors of Habitat for
Humanity, Delaware County Affiliate, most
recently as Vice-President of that organization.
Rob is a graduate of George
Washington University (B.A.) and earned his
M.Ed. at Cabrini College. He is employed by
Episcopal Academy as Director of Community
Service. Rob lives in the Ardmore section of
Haverford Township with his wife Priscilla and
their two children, Rosie and Jon.
